About Us
“Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.”
― Maria Montessori
At Mountain View Montessori (MVM), our focus is on guiding and teaching preschool aged children in the spirit of Dr. Maria Montessori’s educational method. The potential of the child is immense. From birth, children have a unique openness to learning and an instinctual sense of care for others around them. Our teachers provide a safe environment to nurture their innate curiosity and the wonder with which they view the world. Under a set of reasonable boundaries, the child is free to explore practical life skills that foster independence and respect for the world around us. While the child is the primary focus at MVM, high staff morale is also of great importance. It is our philosophy that a happy teacher equals a happy child. We believe this begins with smaller teacher to child ratios. Smaller classes allow for less teacher burnout, greater retention, and an invaluable focus, all for the child’s benefit – a Micro Montessori.
